The trail can be divided into 6 parts:
The Foothills of the Alps
The starting point of the trail is the famous Marienplatz .
The first part of the trail takes us through the Impressive Benediktenwand and from there back to the valley, into the little village Vorderriss.
As mentioned before, this part ends in the village Vorderriss, near the border with Austria, which also represent the border between Bavaria and Tyrol.

North Tyrol and The Karwendel
This part includes days 5 to 7, in those days we cross the Karwendel and even climb to the highest peak in the group – the Birkkarspitze.
The Karwendel essentially divides the “pre Alps” and the “Inn Valley”, whose capitol is the city of Innsbruck.
This part concludes in the town Wattens in the valley.

The Central Alps
This part includes days 8 to 12. In those days we will go through the central Alps.
Among the spots we will be crossing in this part we can mention the Friesenbergscharte Pass, Without a doubt one of the best views on the entire trail. It is also worth mentioning that in this part we cross the border into Italy.
This part ends in the village Pfunders.

The Northern Dolomites
This part includes days 13 to 18. We reach the Dolomites! You can’t mistake them for anything else, with those vertical walls and sheer cliffs.
In this part we will have some fun climbs that includes the use of iron cables and we will also reach the highest point of the trail, with the option to go even higher – to the amazing Piz Boè.
This part ends in the town Alleghe, a beautiful place with unique location.

The Southern Dolomites
This part includes days 19 to 23. In those days we cross the southern Dolomites, which also mean – finishing the crossing of the Alps.
Among the highlights of this part we can mention the walk on the side of mount Civetta, The clear and beautiful lake - Lago Coldai. And for the climbers among us, the ascent and descent over the Schiara.
This part ends in the city Belluno, just beneath the Alps.

The Italian “Pre Alps” and The Piave River
The sixth and last part of the trail includes days 24 to 28. In those days we cross the Italian “Pre Alps”, from there we continue a flat walk along the Piave River.
In the beginning of this part we cross the Nevegal. After the Crossing the trail takes us along the Piave River. Unfortunately, this includes a lot of walking on car roads.
This part obviously ends in the traditional ending point: Piazza San Marco , Venice!
